Closing of the bones ceremony
This ancient ritual marks the end of the postpartum quarantine, a full day to honor the mother.
Service Description
On this special day, we will honor the mother in her postpartum period. The idea of the cerrado is to literally "close" the mother's energetic body, which expanded during pregnancy and birth, so that she can integrate her experience and return to the outside world and strengthen her new identity as a mother. On this day, the mother is treated to a herbal bath, a vaginal steam seat with selected herbs to cleanse and detoxify her uterus (yoni steaming), massages, then the shawling with rebozos (shawls) and the closing of her physical body. The entire process can be very emotional as it works on many levels. Being supported and witnessed in this ancient way is truly essential in the postpartum period. This ritual can be performed at any time in life (not just 40 days postpartum) as it serves to close a cycle and move forward lighter and more integrated. Contact me for more information.
